It is with great sadness that the family of Margie Millar announce her peaceful passing at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie Ontario on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the age of 74.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents Julia and Thomas Head Sr., and siblings Bill and May.
Margie is survived by her husband Bruce. Beloved mother of Tammy Chevrier (Maurice), Debbie Boudreau, and Tom Howitt (Ashley). Cherished Nana to Jessie, Christina, Maurice and Felecia. She will be forever loved and remembered by her siblings Mary Pollock, Rose Head, Millie Hallam, Grace Parkhurst and Tom Head. Margie will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends.
Margie had a love for animals, reading, crossword puzzles, colouring and writing poetry. Her poems often reflected her deep sense of faith and compassion towards helping others. Her desire to do so led her to create Nana’s Closet and Friends of the Homeless for those in her community.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alexander Haines and the dedicated PSW’s for their many years of care, as well as the Specialized Seniors Care team at RVH for their kindness and compassion.
A celebration of Margie’s life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 11 o'clock a.m. at the Kiwanis Pavilion along the Barrie Waterfront.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Royal Victoria Hospital in memory of Margie.
