Kenneth and Lynda Young (Day)

Ken (Kenneth Bertram) Young in his 72nd year, passed away from complications of stroke, on January 10, 2022 and his beloved wife, Lynda Young (Day) passed away of natural causes on August 25, 2023.  They both passed in the home of their heart, the island of Nevis, where they moved to in 2016 and never looked back.

Ken and Lynda were married for 47 years and will be greatly missed by those who knew them; Ken's sister Luana Wood, brother Doug, and by Lynda's family; Roy, Cathy, Cheryl, Wes, and all their nieces, and nephews. Ken was the son of the late Bert and Melrose Young, and was predeceased by his brother Ted and sister Fran Jacobson. Lynda was the daughter of late Roy and Hazel Day and predeceased by her brother Roy.

Outside of a successful career in Quality Assurance and Control Ken enjoyed gardening, woodworking and refinishing driftwood under Driftwood Dreams in Nevis and Lynda carried forward her passion for cooking and painting. They both displayed and sold their art in the local gallery where it is still actively on display, but their greatest love was people.

Join us as we celebrate their lives on Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 at Edgar Hall, 1167 Old Barrie Road West, Shanty Bay, Oro-Medonte.

Ken and Lynda both deeply loved their home and the people in Nevis, and they loved children. To keep their legacy ongoing in Nevis their niece Janice Stone is beginning a foundation in their names for the school children in Nevis, who are in need of supplies and support to complete their elementary education and beyond.  All monies collected will go towards computers and uniforms for children that cannot afford them past the government support period. Feel free to give towards this new venture that will be recognized as from Ken and Lynda Young, reciepts can not be issued.

Two registered charities Ken and Lynda also desired to support are: Child Haven International (www.childhaven.ca) and Global Medic (www.globalmedic.ca)
