It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Krystyna Stainslawa (née Kielbowski) Bowen - Wife, Mom, Grammy, Sister, Aunt, and friend to so many - who suddenly passed away at home in her 69th year.
Krystyna was born May 23rd, 1955 in Malartic, Quebec. Shortly after that, her family made their way to Ontario and rooted themselves in Barrie. Here she attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, St. Joseph’s High School and Eastview Secondary. It was also in Barrie that she met the love of her life, Greg Bowen. They married on December 4th, 1974, and their family grew with the birth of their four daughters: Elizabeth; Nycole (Craig [predeceased]); Natalie (Mark); and Stephanie. She was a loving Grammy to Gavin, Emma, Brooke, Gabriel, Ayden, William, Benjamin, Timothy, Robert, Isabella, Rebekah, and Ava.
Krystyna was the heart of the home, a devoted homemaker who poured herself into her family. She loved children and opened her home to many, becoming their unofficial Mom. She had so much love and compassion for everyone.
Krystyna was a woman of talent. She was a cook, a baker and a preserver of canned goods. She refinished furniture, crocheted and sewed. She was talented at art and had a green thumb. There wasn’t anything that she couldn’t do.
But most importantly, Krystyna was a woman of faith. She loved God and knew Jesus as her Lord and Saviour, knowing that Jesus died for her sins. We rejoice in knowing that she is resting in the arms of Jesus.
