Kenneth Roderick (Rod) Bradfield

Rod Bradfield passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 3, 2023. Born in Niagara Falls on January 3, 1937, Rod spent his entire career with General Motors in Human Resources and Labour Relations.

Rod was predeceased by his wife, Peggy (2010).  He leaves behind his children Ken Bradfield (Chris), Karen Shea (Mike), Kathy Sturm (Peter) and Kirk Bradfield (Connie) along with 6 grandchildren – Kelsey Keillar (Leathan), Ken Bradfield, Madison and Morgan Sturm and Kyle and Jensen Bradfield, his brother Mike (Suellen), sister Sal and several nieces and nephews.

Following his retirement from General Motors, Rod moved to his beloved chalet at Mansfield.  He and Peg ran Bradfield Travel and Cruises in Alliston where they enjoyed taking groups all over the world.

He was a founding member of Mansfield Ski Club and cherished almost 50 years spent at the club and Pine River Chalets.  Rod started as a ski patroller and later became a ski instructor.  He loved teaching skiers for many years.  He proudly skied until he was 80 years old!

Cremation has taken place.  Rod did not want a traditional funeral service.  A celebration of life will be held at Mansfield Ski Club on Saturday, October 21 from 2 to 4 pm.  Please dress casually.

In keeping with his love of the outdoors, please plant a tree in his honour.
