Julia Marthan Kirk

Julia Marthan Kirk (Page) in her 68th year, of Sunderland, Ontario passed away on June 8, 2024 in Barrie, Ontario at Hospice Simcoe, surrounded by her loved ones. Julia was born to Julius and Elizabeth Page June 19th, 1956.

Julia was a proud and long-time resident of Sunderland where she grew up, often volunteering and working at the Sunderland Legion. She moved to Barrie to be closer to her children and her health care team where she found adventure in trying new foods and her new love of Mexican cuisine.

Julia is survived by her son Joey and daughter-in-law Chantal of Innisfil, daughter Faith and son-in-law Paul of Barrie. She was the proud grandmother to Kaylynn, who was the apple of her eye.

Julia will be fondly remembered by her sisters, Betty Anne Perry, Pat Diceman (Wayne), Jane Purvis (Charlie) and Wendy Page (Ingo). Julia will be celebrated in life by many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by parents Julius and Elizabeth Page; best friend and long-time partner Wayne Shier; and brother-in-law Ed Perry.

Julia requested that her life be celebrated and remembered. A celebration of her life will be held on July 20th, 2024, at the Sunderland Legion (104 River Street) from 1-4pm where we welcome friends and family to join us to share their favourite memories. She will be laid to rest at a private service.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, The Hospital for Sick Children or Ontario Branch, Kidney Foundation of Canada.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Maria and all the care team from the Kidney Clinic at Royal Victoria Hospital and the staff and volunteers from Simcoe Hospice, especially Nurse Aryn, and to everyone who reached out to send condolences.
