Jane Payne

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Jane Payne, peacefully at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on February 2nd, 2024, in her 71st year.

Loving mother to Kirsten (Brent), Jodi (Don) and Gramma to Leland, Corbin, Patrick, Kolby. Predeceased by parents William and Estelle Dimaline as well as two older brothers and five loving sisters. She is survived by her brother Robert Dimaline (Lisa) and brother-in-law Don Laceby (Judith Ann). Jane loved her dogs who have passed before her, and her absence will be felt by Bear. She will be missed by an extensive family, friends, and the coffee group. She touched all of those that met her, with her honest and outspoken views.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Cohen, nurses Fran and Yola along with the great staff at Simcoe Hospice, for the short time she was there. As well as Dr. Laura White and the supportive nursing staff at RVH Cancer Centre.

Following her wishes, cremation has occurred. Private interment will occur in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to OSPCA or Simcoe Hospice in Mom’s memory are appreciated.
