Ilda May Heaton
December 12th, 1931 – January 11th,2025
It is with great heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Ilda at the age of 93. Passed away peacefully at Grove Park Home, Barrie on Saturday January 11th,2025. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Ilda was born in Bracebridge to parents John (Jack) and Jessie Barrett (predeceased) Her father Jack worked at the Elgin House Resort on Lake Joseph, Port Sanfield and they lived in a house on the resort property until she was 18. During that time she played and worked throughout the resort.
Predeceased brothers Elgin, Douglas, and sister Irene, survived by sisters Ruth Lovell (Frank predeceased), Grace and Bill Sawyer, Patricia Barrett.
Survived by sons Donald (Dale) Buttler, Scotty (Donna) Buttler, Monte Buttler, Mark (Terri) Buttler. Grandkids Erin (Jake) Rogers, Brendan Buttler (fiancée Lisa Angelis), Leah (Mark) Crowell, Tiffany (Peter) Farkas, Allana Buttler, Jayme (Kody) Clark, Ali Power, Chris (Meg) Cambell, Brady (Lyndsie) Cambell Great grandkids Troy, Leo, Ian, Adam, Isla, Slone, Sam, Leena, Max, and Harper.
Predeceased Husband Richard (Dick) Heaton. She met Dick in Church, faith brought them together. Loved visiting Nashville Grand old Opry and many trips to Florida to escape the cold Canadian winters
She had a soft gentle kind and loving nature, gifted musically playing a number of instruments.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Grove Park Home for their love and care of Ilda over the past few years.
No public visitation or service will be held. Memorial donations to Grove Park Home, Barrie would be appreciated.
