It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Debbie Joan McMahon (nee Nesdoly) on January 16, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home, in Barrie, Ontario with family by her side after complications with liver disease.

Debbie was born to Victor and Marion Nesdoly on July 8, 1959, in Drumhellar, Alberta. Before moving to Calgary, where she was raised with her 3 siblings. After graduating from high school, Debbie met her husband, Gregory. Together, they shared 43 years of marriage and raised 4 children.

Debbie devoted her life to being a mother and departed from her position in administration to raise her family. She will be remembered for her sacrifice, giving her children all her love and affection while encouraging them to strive for their happiness. She was a kind soul with a beautiful heart.

The simplest pleasures brought joy to Debbie. She loved bird watching, gardening, walking the beach collecting sea glass and shells, as well as forest hikes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, she was a proud Nana to her 10 grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gregory McMahon; her children, Meghan (Justin) Forshaw, Moira (Carl) McMahon, Rory (Kim) McMahon; her Grandchildren, Amelia, Adrian, Ava, William, Callen, Freya, Sören, Donovan, Logan, Leilah; and her siblings, Dennis (Pamela) Nesdoly, and Dianne (Ted) Shantz; as well as her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Marion (nee Lovig) Nesdoly; her eldest daughter, Tricia McMahon; as well as her sister, Donna Nesdoly.

Debbie will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by loved ones. We take comfort in knowing that she is now free from pain and suffering and at peace in the arms of our Savior.

Cremation has been completed. Debbie never wanted to be the center of attention. There will be no funeral. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

We invite friends and family to share cherished memories or photos of Debbie. If desired, you may plant a memorial tree, or make a donation to a charity of your choice in her honour.
