Christopher Potter

Passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at home with family by his side at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Melanie  for 39 years. Loving father to Gareth (Kori), Alexander (Michelle), and Matthew. Loving grandfather of Jackson, Marek, Blakely, Callie, and Lily. Cherished son of Rendall and Marion Potter. Close brother to Steve (Mandy), Mark (Liz), Judith (Mark), and Kay (Don).

Chris immigrated from Wales to Canada as a tool and die maker in 1981 at the age of 21. In 1985 Chris and his twin brother Steve decided to open their own company, Eurospec Tooling. During the 36 years in business, Chris and his twin brother built a company that they were proud to employ up to 400 Canadian employees at any given time. In 2019 Chris retired to enjoy some time with his family and friends on Horseshoe Lake and Florida. By the end of December 2020, Chris was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer named Glioblastoma. Chris fought a hard battle and gave 110% as he always did in all his life endeavours.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Chris’ life will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 2 o’clock p.m. at Collier Street United Church, 112 Collier Street, Barrie. Doors will open at 1 p.m. A British style celebration of life will be held following the service. Instead of flowers, Chris and his family would please ask that a donation to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada be made in Chris’ name.
