Hoffleith-McMillan, Christopher Wesley
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Wesley Hoffleith-McMillan, who passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 44, after being struck by a motor vehicle on September 6, 2024. Surrounded by love, Chris was cared for during his final days at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. His family is deeply grateful for the compassion and dedication of the doctors, nurses, and staff who supported them during this difficult time.
Chris was the beloved son of Debbie and her husband Doug Rhijnsburger, as well as the biological son of Larry Hoffleith (Brenda). Chris was lovingly raised by his mother Debbie, alongside his older brother Shane, whom he affectionately called "Hey Bro!" The bond between Chris and Shane was unbreakable, and they supported each other through life’s challenges and joys.
Chris was the devoted and proud father of his only child, Caleb McMillan, whom he loved beyond measure. His greatest blessing in life was his son, and Chris was never shy about telling everyone how proud he was of Caleb. He cherished every moment he spent with Caleb and made sure Caleb knew how deeply he was loved.
In his younger years, Chris enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, and soccer. His determination and work ethic shone through when he achieved the milestone of purchasing his first home at just 19 years old. Doug was instrumental in teaching Chris rigging which became a passion for Chris. Chris always valued his family and friends, and his warmth, passion, and generosity were felt by everyone who knew him. He had a way of making those around him feel loved, always ready to give a heartfelt hug or lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Raised in Orangeville and Barrie, Ontario, Chris made countless friends along the way and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His big heart and vibrant personality touched many lives.
Chris is survived by his loving parents Debbie (Doug) and his biological father Larry (Brenda), his beloved son Caleb McMillan, his dear brother Shane Hoffleith, and his niece, Journey Hoffleith. Chris will be forever remembered by his extended family, friends, and all who loved him.
Chris’ legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Gathering will be held at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie (Parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on November 2, 2024, at 2-4 p.m. with words of comfort at 3 o'clock p.m.
