It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Bill Winters on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Matthews House Hospice, Alliston. After a brave 3 year battle with cancer, Bill went home to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 57. Beloved husband of Kim (nee McEvoy) for 38 years. Cherished father of Daniel Winters; Julia Winters; and Lindsay Wilcox (Daniel). Beloved grandfather of Oliver Wilcox. Cherished son of Donna and the late Edward Winters. Dear brother to Ralph Winters (Cindy); Greg Winters (Lori); late Linda Winters; Nancy de Leeuw (Steve); Diane Muldoon (Patrick). Loved son-in-law to Dave McEvoy (Brenda); and Angela Collura (Tony); and brother-in-law to Steve McEvoy (April). 

Bill was a hard worker who loved to volunteer his time for his family and friends. He was often found helping others with home projects such as painting, renovations and automotive repairs. In recent years, his happy place was his trailer at Muskoka Bible Center where he loved to fish, kayak, and spend time chatting with his neighbors around an evening fire. Right up until his last days, Bill never lost his keen sense of wit and ability to make people laugh. He was a committed member of his church where he served faithfully in various capacities over the years always with a big smile on his face.

Family and friends will be received at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 374 Salem Road, Barrie on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Bill’s life at 11 o’clock a.m. Reception will be held immediately after the Celebration. 

Memorial donations to Matthews House Hospice or Muskoka Bible Centre would be appreciated.
